Over the past six years, Americans have endured nationwide lockdowns, felt the bite of inflation, and watched our nation become more polarized than ever before. When I ran for office, I did so on a simple promise: to put community over chaos. Now, I’m proud to say that I’ve introduced and passed legislation that does just that. Along with my colleagues in the state legislature and Governor Abigail Spanberger, we’re building a Virginia that is affordable, secure, and resilient.
Legislative Wins
During the 2026 session, I worked with legislators on both sides of the aisle to advance a legislative agenda that makes government work for the people. From veterans healthcare to streamlining court processes, my team delivered real results for our constituents.
HB529 – Veteran Suicide Prevention
In 2023, 172 veterans died by suicide in Virginia. Each of these veterans carried a story, left behind friends and family, and were owed a debt for service the Commonwealth can never fully repay. My suicide prevention bill gives the Virginia Department of Veteran Services the tools and authorities needed to implement suicide prevention programming with Veteran Service Organizations across the Commonwealth. HB772 – Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Reform
In an era of rapid technological change, Virginia needs the tools to prepare our workforce for tomorrow’s economy. In close collaboration with labor stakeholders, my team introduced legislation that eliminates unnecessary red tape that restricts how federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act funds are used, giving employers the workforce they need and keeping millions of dollars in federal resources in Virginia. HB528 and HB1408 – Streamlining Court Processes
Every year in the Commonwealth tens of thousands of hours and millions of dollars are spent in courtrooms. To ensure these processes work fairly and efficiently, I introduced legislation to eliminate unnecessary hearings and ensure that courts had the proper authority to divide assets during a divorce. HB773 and HB774 – Protecting Voting Rights
Franchise is a fundamental civil liberty countless Americans have marched, fought, and died to secure and protect. That’s why I introduced legislation aimed at maximizing access to the ballot box, so every eligible voter can cast their ballot and have it counted. Read more about HB773 and HB774.
HB286 – Defending Our National Guard
Working with Delegates Dan Helmer, Michael Feggans, and Marcus Simon, I Chief Co-Patroned legislation to ensure our Guard members are not misused and convene a working group to study how the state should respond to potentially unlawful deployments. Read more here.
